Vintage Girl

This picture of a young lady reading her book outside a vintage shop in Margate is one of my most popular images, I think because it could almost have been taken 70 years ago – thanks to her dress, the architecture and the signage. I just like the fact that she is reading a book about one of my favourite photographers, Don McCullin! I took the picture on one of my first visits to Margate. As a curious twist, the shop that she is leaning against later became a small gallery where I sold my work, including this picture, which would hang in the window.
